Dance Playback Theatre of the Republic

The Dance Playback Theatre of the Republic (in Finnish “Tasavallan Tanssitarinateatteri” - TTTT) is a group of professional dancers from Helsinki, Finland. The group also has a playback conductor and a musician. The TTTT performances are based on improvisation. The conductor interviews the public, asking about the mood and feeling of the group. He also asks people to tell stories that the dancers and the musician play back to the audience.

Like every playback group in the world, the Dance Playback Theatre of the Republic acts as if it were a magical mirror. The audience members can see their own fears, hopes, desires or experiences reflected in dance.

The TTTT conductor is Kimmo Räntilä. The musician is pianist Antti Hakkarainen. All the performers are professional dancers with broad experience in contemporary dance. TTTT is part of the Dance Theatre Auraco.

The TTTT dancers are Otto Akkanen, Janne Aspvik, Päivi Aura, Kati Lehtola, Mirva Mäkinen, Linda Priha, Anna Jussilainen and Janne Simojoki. The performance ensemble normally consists of 3–5 dancers.

The premiere of TTTT was on 28th May 2013.

TTTT can also perform in e.g. workplace events!
