Small Size Days 2017

The arts are not a matter of age but curiosity

Three days dedicated to performances, workshops and other activities for children from 0 to 6 years. Small size days bring the very youngest children and their families, carers and stakeholders together in recognising that the arts are significant and valued in our lives, from birth onwards. The events are held simultaneously in cities all around the world.

Small size days is an event initiated by the Small size Network, and is a part of the wider activity of the European project Small size, Performing Arts for Early Years.

Auraco's programme for the Small size days is Tuntu dance workshop for 0 to 6-year-old visually impaired children with their parents.

Tuntu for visually impaired children

What does dance sound like, what does dance feel like? Steps and rhythms, air waves, touch, breath, the rustle of clothes and the floor – what all does the bodily sensation entail without the dominance of visual perception!

In this workshop, we dive into the world of senses and experiences of the coming Tuntu dance performance together with the artists of Dance Theatre Auraco. Tuntu is part of the Small Size, Performing Arts for Early Years project of EU’s Creative Europe programme.
